When looking for acne products online one of the most commonly found products is Clear Pores. Clear Pores is not as well known as some of the big television brands, but there are a lot of web sites touting it’s effectiveness. We have done some research for you and will explore the products and give you the strait facts regarding this acne treatment system.

Facial Cleanser

Herbal Capsules

Facial Protection Cream

Clear Pores offers four basic options for ordering, the Facial system, Body system, Complete system and just the capsules. We were going to rate the Complete five piece system, but are opting to rate the facial system because the “Complete” system is just the Facial system combined with the Body system.

The Facial System

1) Deep Facial Wash – Unable to find a size - The cleanser is a medicated face wash containing SD Alcohol 40 (1%), and Salicylic Acid (2%) as it’s main active ingredients. While we like Salicylic Acid as a treatment for acne we do not think that putting into a cleanser is a good idea because being used frequently like a cleanser should be it will over dry. I am not a fan of putting alcohol of any kind on my skin, it is know to irritate the skin and could cause worse breakouts. So far this product is no better then some of the cheep drugstore solutions, but lets look at all ingredients:

Ingredients
Cetostearyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Disodium EDTA, Glyceryl Stearate (and) PEG-100 Stearate, Glycolic Acid, Isopropyl Palmitate, Lipoic Acid, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Methylparaben, Polyacrylamide (and) C13-14 Isoparaffin (and) Laureth-7, Propylene Glycol, Propylparaben, Sodium Hydroxide, Steareth-2, Steareth-21, Water, Xanthan Gum.

There are some nice ingredients like Lipoic acid the majority of the ingredients are cheep chemicals used to make a product that dries out your skin and will most likely cause irritation.

2) Herbal Capsules – Number of capsules unknown – These capsules are designed as a general skin health re-builder. Their description “The herbs support your skin by rebuilding cells which means reduction of inflammation, swelling and less scarring.” Looking through all of the ingredients there are a lot of good general purpose herbs in these capsules.

Ingredients
Purified water, glycolic acid, propylene glycol, hamamelis virginiana extract (witch hazel), dimethylethanolamine, phenoxyethanol, sodium Hydroxide, camellia sinensis leaf (green tea extract), passiflora edulis flower (passion flower extract), aloe barbadensis leaf extract, salvia officinalis (sage extract), citrus medica limonum extract

This again is full of artificial ingredients and lots of potential causes of skin irritation.

Our summary

For being the “Top Rated” system on many web sites this system contains only one decent product (the capsules), the two lotions are full of cheep irritating ingredients which are not good for sensitive skin. The reason for so many positive reviews would appear to be the large commission sales team they employee. We did manage to find one REAL review from Amazon.com as well we found more products from this company on Amazon. Creating a good acne solution requires that you help calm inflamed skin and then help to prevent future breakouts. Your money would be wasted using this system as the creams found here can be purchased in a drugstore for a lot less.
